In total, ELLIS now counts 561 Fellows and Scholars from 23 countries.
‘ELLIS Fellows & Scholars are the fabric of the ELLIS network, which they shape and grow through their contributions. This new group of outstanding researchers is joining the network after being selected among over 200 exceptional applicants. Together with them, we will continue to work to keep ELLIS at the forefront of research and innovation in AI and Machine Learning,’ says Nicolò Cesa-Bianchi, Chair of Fellows & Fellows Selection Committees.
ELLIS Fellows are top researchers in machine learning with a proven track record of scientific excellence. They act as ambassadors of ELLIS and provide strategic advice on how to advance science and the network. Both Fellows and Scholars play a vital role in supervising ELLIS PhD students, establishing ELLIS units and institutes, and founding ELLIS programs.
The Fellow status was simultaneously granted to another ELLIS Unit Warsaw member, Piotr Sankowski (University of Warsaw).
